Lads anyone know what the process is for getting a UK car on the road over here, new girl on our team has a little MX5 she was going to bring over while she is working in Ireland and i told her i would help her figure out the paperwork. She has owned the car about 2 years in UK so not sure how the how VRT etc works in that case. Any info would be appreciated

All depends on if she's planning on staying here or not. There is a small charge to change the car onto irish plates because it's hers and shes owners it for more then six months. All vrt is now done through your local nct centre. But if she's only here for a small while. Have her paper work with her v5 and that, proof of UK address and drive on uk plates. Vrt is really only for a permanent switch

she be best just driving on uk plates with valid mot and tax.

have uk licence and insurance if gets stopped at checkpoint.

again depends how long is gonna be here

How long could she get away with driving it over here on uk plates and insurance? She owns a house in Uk and renting it out while working here. she plans to be here for a year or so but will only be driving it 2 weeks of the month since her job requires her to travel a lot.

cool ill let her know. If anyone knows of an impreza for sale around 5-6k in good conditions thats another option she said

She is looking for one alright or an evo. She had a gt86 up until the start of the year she sold to buy her house, supra before that etc. Time to get her in a scooby

Who is to say she isn't working back and forward from the Uk? She should just drive on the Uk reg... There is nothing they can do
