swordsman

Petrolheads
hit a rock on M50 today size of head of cauliflower
right at M1 interchange
at about 70mph
got back to the office up in balbriggan
thought i got away lucky
came back to car 5 hrs later
flat tyre
questions:

1. can i claim off Fingal coco or the NRA for the puncture repair (rims were ok)?
2. put brand new spare on. should i put the repaired tyrre back once i get ot back?
3. steering shkes a littlie after spare went on - do this mean i need to get the car tracked?

without the proof, fingal wont entertain that at all !!!!
doesnt reallly matter as long as its not a space saver!!!!
wheel balance is off IMO...tracking wont make the steering wheel shake!!!

get onto the county councils if they do notin get onto gerry ryan or some other radio station and give out but do it in a pollitical manner and ask who is in charge of cleaning roads, and i would bet your not the only person, thats wot i would do, then i would go mad :multijump: :angry1: :angry1:

the wife wrecked an alloy wheel on her 2009 fiesta last week after hiting a pot hole,i phoned kildare c.c ...to say i got the run around would be an understatment....bottom line iv to pay out 170 euro for a new wheel, and id have more chance of winning the lotto than them paying out.... :wall: :wall:

IMO you got away lightly, could have been a lot more damage...

i doubt the council will do a thing to be honest, they dont even have the funds to pay someone overtime to clean the dirty nappies off the beach on a bank holiday weekend.

Let alone fix your puncture without proof.

If i were you id just get it fixed and count yourself lucky your not looking for a new bumper wheel etc

A rock on the road isn't the councils problem i'm afraid- they will just fork out (if you hound them) for hitting pothole or a damaged surface. The rock must be from the works or rolled off a wagon ith a load of stone etc :dontknow:
