Hi Folks I waxed the car on Sunday and used Mothers Calaforina Gold with Carnuba and I have to say its easy to work with and the car came up lovely really pleased cheers.John L.
Never used it personally but make sure to rreport back on its durability. Did you use the liquid wax from the bottle or the wax from the tin?
I tend to stick to dodo juice, FK1000P, or autoglym HD wax... Favourite at the moment is Autoglym HD wax, so easy to apply, easy buff off and excellent durability
Yeah I might try that when the liquid wax is gone while your here whats the best bug and tar remover and it must be easy on the paintwork thanks John L.
I use snap and sealand it really brings out the red of the car . I used to use turtle wax ice which was very easy to apply and I got a few nice comments from people as to how clean it looked
Autosmart tardis is the best available, bout €20 from a rep if you can get hold of one... Not available in the shops though
Autoglym bug and tar is pretty decent too, not quite as effective though and its expensive for the quantity you get.. If you are coming to the meet in the autoglym warehouse: https://isdc.ie/forum/threads/23767/ then you'll get a much better deal than you would in Halfords etc...
Stay away from the meg's one, its dog poo... Triggers give up the ghost pretty quickly and the fact that its creamy textured just annoys me...
All bug and tar removers will be tough on paint, just don't leave it sit ion the paint for any great lenght of time, a couple of mins will do... After you're finished detarring the whole car, rewash it using fresh mitt and shampoo
On my previous car I've been using Poorboys Natty's Paste Wax Blue and it was amazing. Recently they've launched the limited edition RED - but very hard to get.. It gives even more wet look
do it in the shade and spread the coat a bit thinner
also a extra large micro fibre cloth helps
its actually not that bad to take of
remember auto glym exhibition polish a few years back you needed a kango hammer to take the stuff off

Got the HD wax by autoglym on the car over the weekend , very impressed but hard work to get the whole car done
used proper Autoglym HD (it is the best staff no mistake made) and also the spray on liquid Autoglym- nearly as good and durable as the real thing and quarter of the time to apply
