Oh yes. Fully intend on doing the ring this year. So it will be this or the transit. Tough decision. :ponder:

Gorgeous car. Well done and health to drive. Can I ask what's going to happen with the Spec-C? Is the dealer going to register it now or will he sell it to the UK or did he tell you?

Actually broke even due to Sterling getting strong over the last while. Happy days cheaper road tax is a bonus also. :653:

just sow the pictures. savage stuff m8! ( youtube video )

how come tax is cheaper on the s204? arent they both 2.5?

They are both 2.0 litre but he would have had to register the spec c as a 2012 reg car which would mean it comes under emmissions road tax and would cost €2k per annum to tax.

Yes he is a UK dealer and will register it in UK for sale then. A lot of performance and luxury cars are being taken out of Ireland to the UK due to their strong Sterling making them cheaper to buy.

Pre 2008 cars are taxed on engine size, so only taxed as a 2.0L. About 700euro to tax rather than 2000euro as said already with emissions based tax.

The jap hawks were all 2 litre same in the hatch's aswell as far as I know. 2.0 litre is a better engine imo and I have a 2.5 in mine

She is a 100% jap car but it is called an s204 it basically has upgraded everything over the standard Sti. That's why no Sti log on the boot. It's an s204

I think the edm cars where 2.5 because of euro regulations on emissions.

The Jap 2 litre twin scroll had higher compression, higher compressed volume, higher rod to stroke ratios, higher piston deck and quench volumes versus the 2.5.

Earlier 2.5 models were apparently prone to head gasket failure whereas the 2.0 twin scroll was a tried and tested setup and probably saw as a better pedigree for the car it was going into. Funnily enough despite this the 2.5 won engine of the year.

But as Eric says maybe it did have a lot to do with co2 produced relative to engine size?

Probably my favourite Impreza. I'm well jealous!! Well wear dude. Those wheels on the s204 are the t1ts :049:
