Got me a BD5 Legacy

Hey lads and lassies, I'm Andy, from Cork, got myself a lovely 97 legacy RS last week! Great car, loving it so far well until yesterday when the bloody fuel pump died on me!! Got it sorted today tho with the help of a walbro from Barry's Motorsport. Subaru wanted 300 euro and 4 weeks to get one in!!! Lets hope that's not a sign of things to come! The car is mint in every way tho so I'm hopeful enough.

I'm determined not to spend thousands on this like I did with my skyline but already I'm thinking about how to improve the flat spot between the primary and secondary turbos. Any ideas? Better get my reading glasses on I suppose

great to have another cork member join.. yeah!

im living in castletownbere where abouts are you?

I'm not a big fan of the grill, I'll be on the lookout for a different one in a few weeks once my wallet has recovered from the fuel pump episode!

Welcome Andy

Looks like a nice motor!!! To eliminate the V O D convert to a single turbo system!
Saying that a good remap will help reduce the problem vastly

Tidy ride Dude, Welcome to the endzone, where all Scooby noobies are welcome... You will find all the necessary info and help here, for the on coming legacy marriage to work, it must become a symbiont relationship, :hjtwofinger: respect and communication are utmost! :comp26: keep the racing for the track :icon_headbang:

Welcome along Andy.

Dont worry too much about the price of parts. Subaru always want mental money for bits but thankfully there's a load of places for aftermarket parts (most of which are uprated!) I blew the radiator in my leggy at the start of the year and subaru wanted around €700!!! Got an uprated alloy one for just over €300 or so. Check out the traders on here.

As for the VOD.. Unfortunately the BD/BG model legacys cannot be mapped. You can get a piggyback ECU or so i've read!!! Refurbing the solenoid box can improve the VOD dramatically.

Check out this linky from uklegacy.com http://www.uklegacy.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=99308&hl=

Hope it points ya in the right direction

All the best

Oh, car looks great by the way
