€4142.08...yep, that's it, and no the decimal point is not in the wrong place, needless to say I was fooking shocked, not that I can afford insurance anyway but still would have liked the option to if I could!!
That is nuts in this day and age. Fucking Hell mate. Start looking around.
I had an Insurance company ring me today looking for me to give them business today as my insurance is due next month. When I told them I had an Impeza STi before they start to take my details they told me they don't insure them and I got a big good bye from the.
Last year it was €1500, so a bit of a jump, but just finished reading through the letter I got and its with a crowd called ARB Technical Services through First Ireland
I was getting mad renewal quotes last time out. Ended up going to a local broker and let him do the donkey work. He got me insurance with Zurich for €670 fully comp even though they'd quoted me nearly double that when i'd rang them myself. Same details as yourself but with the extra NCB. I'd call into a few brokers if I was you, that price you got is ridiculous.
Cheers Michael, I'd appreciate it, I thought they were too but not getting a break at all, on easyquote,insure.ie,chill.ie,quoteme.ie,123.ie,nononsense.ie etc and nothing good so far
Jesus mark thats mental, i got mine through first ireland and the underwriter was ARB man and it was 1800 and thats only with 250 excess, can't find any understanding or reason there hitting you with that, for as said reason to get it off there books. I went shopping around and not one company would entertain me, so basicaly they have your back to the wall. Hope that micks broker sorts you out mate.
Did you ring them and tell them they made mistake? I would and if they hadn't I tell them I was off. Beleave me their looking to loose business but they will push you quote up from last year.
I rang them and all I got was It says on the letter that its a competitive price and I asked them how on earth is it competitive and all I got was "eh...uh...em" told them to forget it, all I wanted was insurance I wasn't looking to buy the company and hung up
