would this not compromise the integrity of the discs?surely they are tempered by maker after they groove theirs. They look great though fair play!

Maybe on the big money discs. The ones i bought were standard grade 220 cast iron, machined from cast billet and then drilled and grooved. No heat treatment. Most discs are made from this material . It hardens up by itself from constant friction/hot-cold.. I dont groove them below the minimum thickness stamped on the disc anyway to be safe

Sure! That makes sense. You know your craft alright

My discs could use cleaning up!
how much for a light skim to get rid of the rough edges, I maybe some of the little cracks
They are a hard working set of 355mm AP Racing discs

New and used pics

Are all those little cracks safe to be driving around with Dan? Could the disc not completely shatter at any time?

dan,
them discs are fooked mate!!!!
i wouldnt be putting them in a skip let alone back on a car!!!
honestly!!

Ah they'll be grand,
They have been like that since paddy's day 2008! they have had a hard auld life since then!
Plus they are mad money to replace!
Dan

Playing the old ' mindless optimism ' game then Dan   Only joking. I'll skim them if you want , sometimes the cracks are only on the surface where the disc is glazed.

You can buy crack test spray in any engineering supply store if you want to see if the cracks are right through.

I'll give you a shout next week to arrange something, if they're gone to far , grooving won't be an option though.
