as above was driving home last nite passed spawell and they went around round about and came after me, illegal reg plates illegal back box and because he didnt want to use his torch i have to bring license, insurance, nct and tax to them, oh my back box is a kakimoto, and i came up wit a good one, that it a sti ra which is a limited edtion so as far as i know that is the standard back box that come on this model, but i dont want the hassel of them annoyin me all the time how much would i be lookin for a proper sti back box??? or would the magnex ovel pass the sound test thing that they do, :angry1: :angry1: :angry1: :angry1: :angry1: :angry1:

Magnex are grand but if heir watching you you might be best getting standard STI back box.
 
My kakimoto exhaust is limited to 94 or 96 decibals i think it is. I'll see can i find it online. Might be the same one
 
i has been said beofre there are 3 gards on this site
but they can be real pricks for no reason
it is important not to give them any excuse
 
Has this sound level rule come in yet?? AFAIK its not in until March 09 so surely they can't enforce it now? :ponder2:
 
I dont know what decibels my exhaust is but its v loud. Have passed by dozens of guards in squad cars and on foot and none of them have stopped me. @ Noel I wouldnt go changing your exhaust just because you caught a guard in a bad mood. Tell them you want proof that your exhaust is illegal, as Mark said the sound level thing has not come in yet. Dont let them harass you
 
From what I have experienced in my area the majority of Garda don't mind the likes of Impreza's, Evo's etc... Once your not driving like a lunatic and attract attention to yourself. And your taxed, nct'd etc... I kept to myself and never had a bother with them...
 
ye went down to the station last nite, and the lad wit all the stripes on his arm delt with me, and didnt really understand why i got pulled seemed a bit puzzeled my reg numbers are the bold text type which are bigger than the normal size, and the exhaust he had a look and listen and just shruged his shoulders,.. and clever me forgot my full insurance cert with my name so had to go back and came across another guard who reconised me and i described the guard who pulled me and he laughed and said ye he is wit the traffic corps and something went against him a while ago and he has bein on RAMPAGE, so they said leave well enough alone but if he stops me again get them done, lovely lovely guards, its just a pity there are one or two who bring them down
 
I have very illegal Plates 84STI and milteck which does be singing at the top of it's lungs must of the time, And never had trouble!
You must just have one of those dodgey looking faces! :lol:

guards in my town have a decible meter they,ve stopped loads of people including me and told me to change it but so far nobody had been fined, given points or gone to court so im starting to doubt there even a law yet

i dont want the hastle and in i was thinking of getting a hks silent high power are they any good

em do you no wat exhaust is on the bobcat thats always in mondello it sounds mental
 
I was driving that car at the last trackday! I'll try find out what exhaust it has!

The law is there at the moment for loud exhausts and has been since at least 1994 afaik. Most guards on the regular units don't bother or may not even know exactly what the law is regarding the exhausts but its the traffic corps that are well up on every road traffic law that enforce it.
