gutted - slightly happier now

Sunday Drivers
my impreza had the side taken out of it, by some guy overtaking me, just as i went to overtake
now to see what the insurance accessor says!
was a bugeye wagon, but the entire drivers side from back to front has been wrecked, inc some b pillar damage

almost cried!

Hope its not too badly damaged and can be repaired easily enough!

thankfully, no one hurt, and cars were still driving,
will find out what the accessor says in the morning,
the car has b pillar damage below the weld points, so thats the worry,
as well as the rear bumper, both doors and front and rear quarter panel!

If there is a kink in the roof then I would worry....
The B Pillar can be fixed / replaced. If its done correctly there will be no issue and it will be every bit as safe / strong as the day it came out of the factory!!!!
Quarter pannel can be replaced as can the doors.......
Dont fret until the assessor has had his say

Sorry to hear it mate, never nice to be involved in any sort of smack..

So what exactly happened? You were going to overtake the lad ahead of you but the person behind you was already overtaking you and you smacked into him?

i came outta a corner, and dropped down to overtake, the guy came behind me from no where, started his overtake in the corner, and i didnt see him
so we went side on, its sh*t!!!!

went to see accessor, is it bad if he uses the words "u hit her a fair smack" and "we'll be in touch if we're goin to take it in"

will find out this week anyhow

Sorry to hear that mate, hopefully you come out of it ok... The insurance companies will do whatever works out best for them so unfortunately you can only sit and wait...

labour costs will write it off for sure!!!!
quarter panels and pillar supports are big jobs to replace!!!
hope you get what the car is worth back mate!!

ya wont hear anything back for least a wk,best to keep the pressure on they to hurry up your report
 
ok, so the insurance wont repair it, not economically viable
but they are going to give me give me the car back and not put it down as a write off

now trying to decide, is it worth while fixing and selling on, but will be severely devalued, or will i get more interest in it for parts?
 
Why not reshell it? Maybe talk to the likes of Froggy who should have a decent shell up there and transfere everything accross?
Wouldnt be that expensive all together and you can do it as a project over a few months and upgrade what ya want as ya go along!!!!!
