I was reading on SI about a chap who drives his '08/'09 sti very respectfully but had his engine fail after 6500miles!
Seamingly there is a issue with the mapping with running lean at higher revs, and also the piston design on the 2.5's
The 2.5 pistons have since been revised,
But maps and pistons on existing cars is obviously still worrying,
If I was lucky enough to have one, I would check my warranty if still covered i would go do some dohnuts with stale 95ron fuel in,
And they'll replace with new revised motor and hopefully pay for a tweeked map!
Sorry if this is new and disturbing info for hatch owners, but hopefully helps!
