Have not bought a Subaru yet but wanna ask a few questions

Hello all..
I have been a Toyota (twin cams) and Ford (saphire cosworths and most resent MK11 Rs 2000) all my life.I had to sell my MK11 due to a new adittion to the family.I only used the cars maybe twice a month..I have been looking at the impreza wrx/sti 03/06...The sti seem hard to buy. I can get 05/06 wrx at very reasonable money but i would love the sti power.I was on to Kenny Mc Kinstry about upping the power on the WRX but he told me to forget about it. So i was looking for a bit of advice and maybe costings for upping the bhp.

That's a very open ended question mate. How long is a piece of string?

It all depends what sort of bhp and lbs/ft you hope to achieve. Best to speak to one of the Traders on this site for exact figures on parts and expected bhp etc. :thumbsup:

Thanks all...looking for decent bhp without doing any damage would be the aim...and for decent bucks.....
 
What youll save not buyin the sti youll spend and more to get it up to a reliable sti level. Kenny is a decent man and a long time lookin at subarus-I agree with him

As for buying a wrx and upping the power,you can get decent power out of it,true the mods are going to cost you,but hey thats the joy modding a car,its your choice.
De-cat fuel pump and re-map will see you with respectable power...buy a wrx you wont regret it... :icon_grin: :icon_grin:
 
I'd go STi if you can afford it.

I had a WRX first and wasn't happy because I always wanted the STi. You can get great buys in Merlin car auctions if you keep an eye on their site. I'd also go late 04 on if thats the model you thinking of as it had a wider track and DCCD as standard.

I can get a 05 WRX with everything STI kit leather for 12k.But at the back of my mind i want to hold out for the STI. I must keep an eye on Merlins Site..Have been keeping an eye on Traders in Dublin plenty of WRX but no STI.
 
Keep an eye in the for sale section here!
If you are already wanting an sti, then you'll never really be happy with a wrx!
