Having the paint touched up..? Is it a turn off for buyer in the future?

Folks,

Im thinking about having the front bumper and skirts of my car touched up due to stone chips etc..

My question is, Is this a big turn off for potential buyers in the future if they know the bumpers have been sprayed?

I think the majority of people will think the car was involved in an accident or something, well thats my small minded view anyway! Some of you might say 'well I wouldn't say anything about it to a buyer' but I would always like to be honest and tell buyers the full story with a car I was selling.

What do you guys think? Should I respray or not...? The bumpers (basically anything plastic!) are turning very creamy

Rgds

Take pictures of before & after, have the date & time stamp turned on for your camera & have a dated receipt from the spraypainter available with the photos to show any perspective buyer.

If someone offered me all of the above & I was happy with the finish of the work then I wouldn't question any further.

I did this before and took before and after photos of the work done.... This satisfied the buyer of the car at the time there was nothin dodgy or i wasnt tryin to hide anything. Also because I brought the issue up to him and didnt try to hide it he was alot happier...

where are you planning on getting the work done Paddy? I go do with getting my front bumper fixed up to.

Hi Dan,

Im still debating that TBH, I have a cheap quote from a guy in work who sprays the cabs and bonnets for us but is a qualified panel beater. But I think I wanna go with a professional to get it done right. Also I wanna take off the black plastic mud-splash guards and clean up under them.

Ill try and post up before/after pic's when I get it done, see what you's think.

Thanks again lads, good job!

Paddy

Where are you based-ive had work done at car perfect ennis in the past and you honestly couldnt tell if the cars were ever painted-outstanding finishers.

Yeah this guy is just outside Kilbeggan works alone most of the time but he will not and I repeat will not rush a job so make sure you have a spare car cheers.
