loose wire, not clipped on properly, could be some of the wires behind the a pillars. take them off and make sure all wires are secure
It sounds like something tapping the glass with a small hammer and its when the car moves up or down or even when I start her in the morning I have ha dthe screen replaced twice thanks Dan I will be up in Dublin on Sat week maybe we can meet up I want to pik ure brain and Happy New Year to u and yours 
Just took of the roof lining off in a classic, only wires there are the one going to the center light and the front light. and two tweeter wires.
Was a plastic tube holding the wires up the pillars.
Would the mirror be loose, just screwed to the roof bracket. Unless theres a little screw flying round up there and loddged up near the front
Leggy might be different tho.
