Heat/Dust shields for NCT, needed or not?

Anyone know if heat/dust shields are required for NCT?
Replacing discs and pads and stuff next week and may as well change them if needed for nct otherwise if they are rusted then I'm just gonna trail them off completely.
Knowing my luck they'll be required and most likely cost a fortune and not be very handy to source.

Yeah, as above. Don't leave them fail them for corrosion, cause then they can fail them for parts missing.
So just put it through a full test without and you'll be fine đź‘Ť

Leave them or replace them. I think people have had issue in the past where they removed them and the NCT computer said they should be there, so it's a straight fail for not being there, whereas if they fail on rust it's a visual so you're going to be replacing them anyway.

You might get lucky, or you might have to return.

Yeah as above, if not there, they can't test them.
But it did happen me. They failed my WRX on rusty backing plates, so I pulled them off and went for retest, then it failed on parts missing.
So I let the 28 days expire, went to another center, still with no backing plates, and it passed.
Like a baby seat, if it's in the car, they check that too

As above like a rear wiper, not there it’s a pass.

Running 6 pot AP’s the last 10-15 years and no issue with NCT.

Take them off and send it!!!
