Hello, new gc8 owner from meath

Hello all, my name is Aaron and I've just got my hands on a black 96 sti v3, it's in good enough condition but needs big ends unfortunately.
I'm a painter by trade so it will probably get a respray eventually as the boot lid is a bit rusty and the rear driver door is dented.
If anyone is local enough to the hill of Tara and knows what they are listening to, I would like to get their opinion on weather or not I need a crank aswell as bearings. The car starts and ticks over nice but rattles/knocks when revved a little. I've done big ends in my previous mitsi gsr and evo engines but I'm a bit apprehensive about doing my 1st 'flat' engine so I'll probably just get someone to do it if the price is right.....

yes 110% you will need a crankshaft.


have all bits needed for your diy job.

Yes I bought the car knowing the engine was gone so it's not too bad that way.

Dave, I will be in touch, are you in the yard Ray used to be in? I'd be a good friend of rays, he's done a lot of wiring for me over the years haha
