Hi guys!

I know some of ye will remember my story with the B4 when I bought it. Well It just keeps getting better.....

To make a long story short I bought the '00 B4 in January. Engine blew on way home. Got new engine fitted. Code 66 coming up after new engine fitted. Brought it back to garage. They tried and checked everything and cant solve it.

Brought car to a mechanic who is a good friend of mine and a Subaru head! :subaru:

He has spent the last few weeks going over it on and off and its piped right etc.... but still throwing a code 66 and driving like a pig and over boosting to nearly 1.5bar on the second turbo!

So my mechanic is now looking for another '00 B4 that he park long side mine and start comparing everything. Now he has a full time job with a main dealer so I would need the load of a B4 for a week or two. Even a non runner would do once its untouched and not with bits stripped from it....

So, anyone got a spare B4 parked up!!!! :anyone: Im in Limerick and my mechanic is in Ennis. I'll collect and drop back etc no problem there.....

This car will be the death of me!!!!

Cheers!

I doubt anyone would be willing to loan you a car for that long mate unfortunetly.

Why dont you give it to davelegacy? he knows them really well and has all the spars you would need, Rather than giving it to someone that does not know them.

Was thinking about a non runner really, that's not being used and about to be broke for parts etc....

I would give it to Dave but to be honest I have nearly 2k spent on it, on top of what I paid for it. My own guy is going easy on me and doing it in his spare time.

can relate to both above arguments !

Yep! Its a tough one but cant justify spending big money on it at this stage! Even to break it I'll be loosing out on a lot of money. And I don't have the knowledge to break it myself either!!!!

its a nightmare at this stage!

Instead of messing around with it more could you not buy yourself a run around until you could give it to Dave? For the sake of heartbreak and depleting more funds just hold off until your ready to give it to him.

I thought about that alright, but regardless of how long I leave it it's still costing way more than the car is worth.... I'd prefer to get it running right now and sell it. Put the whole sorry mess behind me!

Can you tell us exactly what your mechanic has checked on the car? Code 66 is notoriously hard to get rid of. I suspect the engine is either plumbed incorrectly, youre missing or have a restrictor pill in the wrong place,or a solenoid has given up the ghost in the black box thats bolted to the drivers side strut tower. With regards overboost on secondary, that may or may not be related,it could be wastegate not opening at correct pressure but its a guessing game on a forum. Im half an hour from ennis but my car is 03 so plumbing is slightly different

Im not sure exactly on what he has done but I can tell you the solenoid box was changed and the plumbing is correct as per the numbering. This guy is really good and knows Subarus inside out but he has exhausted everything on this one! He reckons now the only way forward is to strip it back and rebuild it the exact same as a car parked long side it!

No offence intended but he shouldn't need another b4 parked alongside it if he knows the layout off the system.

Sorry for your troubles.

Not so sure that the numbering is an accurate guide-for example,my car has two no 8's

Go on UKLEGACY.com guy on there used to sell re-conditioned boxes with new piping, I'm sure he'd sell you one...then its just a straight swap out
