Hey again

Hey Everyone,

I joined here a couple of years back but kind of drifted away as I never bought a Scooby :wall:
I guess it was inevitable that I'd be back at some stage as I can't stop thinking about one.....

My name's Richie and I live in Dublin.
I'm only 22 so car history is a bit limited but not the worst;
E36 316i -> Fiat Bravo (1.4) -> E36 325is -> Alfa Romeo 156 1.8ts -> Toyota Soarer 2.5gt-t -> Stage 3a S14a Nissan 200sx

I still have the 14a, however, she's gone up on Donedeal and I've full intention on buying an Impreza/Leggy with the funds generated from the sale. I've also opened a 'wanted' thread on here with an option of a P/X deal if anyone is interested :smile:

Looking forward to getting involved on the site, REALLY looking forward to owning an Impreza! Haven't owned anything AWD yet :dance:

Welcome back and best of luck with finding a car.

One thing you should do before you buy, is ring the insurance and make sure they will insure you on the car your looking at. Alot of people having problems these days.

Any link to the Nissan? They can look so good

edit: just seen it now. If it was a darker colour i would have been interested. Happy hunting

Thanks again everyone!

Welcome along Richie. How did you insure those cars at 22?

:subaru:

Hey Andy,

I've never had trouble insuring powerful cars TBH. There is a method I always use that has never let me down, I generally insure something as close to the spec I can get... Say for the 325, I called up the insurance company, said I was getting a 320 paid for the policy over the phone then called back a couple of days later and said that the 320 fell through but I went and bought a 325. I usually get told I'm too young etc etc but after some persuasion (and a few hundred more €'s) the policy is adjusted to the higher spec'd car.

As it stands I've a Stage 3a 200sx. There is no way in hell they would of insured me on day 1 if it had this spec but after a few months of calling them saying 'Hi, my turbo blew on my car so I bought an upgraded, more reliable version' Or 'Hi, I didn't feel comfortable with the stopping power of my brakes so I bought bigger/better units' they generally don't bother giving out about the extras.

In saying that, my insurance is €3,700 and I've 4yrs NCB with my girlfriend as a named driver so it's not exactly cheap haha.

welcome along

all the best getting a subaru
