hi there im new on here and im looking for some advice,im thinking of buying a 1995 impreza wrx,ive looked at a few but the 1 i have in mind seems real clean with only 55000miles on clock.its a jap import,its totally standard,sold nct ready with test date and all.
what i want advice on is the use of octane boost,how often,how much,what type,is it essential etc
the current owner says he uses half a bottle with every fill.
the car seems to drive a1 no flat spots or funny noises etc
also what else should i look out for with these cars?

Welcome to the club man, as far as i know your car should not need boost as the high octane fuel was not out in japan in 95, i could be wrong but if i am ill be pulled up straight away :mooner:

As far as I am aware Fenster is correct in what he is saying, However I would want to know if it was remapped with Octane booster in the tank etc before i commited myself to an answer.
If it was remapped to a higher level of octane requirement then I think im right in sayin its going to need it. However do what most of the lads do here.... Run it on Maxol E5 and ya shouldnt really have any issues.

Get a full service done.... ALL fluids changed

if the car is totally standard you should have no need for booster
the more experienced lads in the club can help you
personally speaking i had a 95 sti ra back in 2004 never used booster
it has had a hard life and is still going today with orginal engine
