gentlemen/ladies, first post but lurking for a while. Have a big question..........I'm looking at a wrx wagon........not the silver one(sorry) and the price advertised is a million miles away from where we are talking. I'm in my mid 40's (young at heart) absolutely bored out of my brains driving a merc which just never breaks down, uses no diesel but just leaves me limp. I've had all sorts of cars in my day. I like the wrx, I would'nt call it supercar performance, it's GTi league with sharper handling....runs out of peep in the high end rpms.......i'm looking for something with a bit of life, can throw the seats down re loads, dont do huge miles and reasonably comfy. My big question is am I going to be plagued re security issues as I need this like a hole in the head. I have off street parking but reading thru some of the posts re stolen scoobys, it's just putting me off and holding me back. I've always liked the scoob's from an early age but my question is, is it is bad a some make out ?

Thank you in advance and you guys have a great forum here.

After having a misspent youth modifying all sorts of cars I'm now driving a Wrx wagon myself that is bog standard!
MPg isn't bad, but majority of my driving is motorways! Security wise a good alarm with immobiliser is normally enough to keep potential thieves at bay! In my experience Clifford alarms with black jax (anti hi jacking) is the best type of alarm on the Market (personal preference anyway)

Comfort wise the car is great! I carry my young son and wife around with no hassel or discomfort!
The power delivery is smooth aswell but when you want to you can make the car more aggressive by changing your driving style!

Great cars with good space capacity

I would highly recommend 1 to anyone provided they are prepared to spend the money on a good alarm system

once it has a decent alarm system you should be grand, failing that get a legacy wagon, should have a bit more poke than wrx wagon

Make sure you get one with plenty servive history and you should be Rockin' it's a minter imo....it's the blue one in LO'C

I figured......thats all thats holding me back. Wrx is a fine machine.....I'm used to horizotally opposed engines with turbos attached except the other end of the car :shhh:. Back to WRX's, I'll report back.

There are loads of lads in different areas of Dublin that have scoobys without issue!!!
If your worried about security there are loads of options out there that would protect you!!!!
Least of all a parking bollard!!!

im not a million miles from you.never had any bother at all.
ive a post in the driveway, clifford with black jax and a snap off steering wheel :icon_biggrin:

spend a few bob on security and it wont go missing in the night

dont think the wagons stand out as much, but at the end of the day the scum will take what they can...good alarm and fully comp insurance...

lived in cabinteely for over 20 years never had a car taken
now up the road in rathfarnam and have never had my car touched here either

Hello 930lad & Welcome to the Club

The first Subaru I bought was a New Turbo Wagon in 2001 & I was living in Dublin 24. I did not have any problems with security. As above if you get a decent alarm (e.g. a clifford) it will deter thieves / unwanted attention

From what I hear of late less Scoobys are being taken & thieves now prefer low key cars such as the Audi RS series :dontknow:

I found the Wagon very practical & it never missed a beat. As the lads say, get one with a good service history which has been well minded :subaru:

Cheers,

Michael
