Hi all from a Russian girl

Does your brother own a petrol station? [emoji38]

actually he sold most of his camels to get the corvette im only kidding haha he was lucky cuz he wrecked his jeep while he was driving into work and there was a small sand storm which lead to soft sand to accumilate on the asphalt and that made his car lose control and tip over four times, when the cops inspected the accident and they stated that he was driving within a normal speed and it was not his fault, so he got compensated and now he is looking for a replacement car currently he is using my scirocco i hope e has not wrecked it tooo haahahahah

This means of transport still remains the main for me.

Today I tried to exchange my lifelong valid everywhere Swiss driving license for not a life long irish one.

Guess what! They send me to the driving school and a learners permit because my previous license was Russian.

Will exchange only if I provide the proof of taking the test from the swiss traffic department in English or with certified in Ireland translation.

I knew that being Russian is sucks. Here I feel all the depth of it.

so basically your back to stage 1 . L plates , compulsory lessons and a piss poor test system .

it's a wonder anyone wants to move here

I didn't want to.
That makes me 100 times more unhappy.

On the upside... you get to keep your Russian and Swiss driver's licenses... and... you get to add a 3rd one to your collection lol.

Apply for a cancellation test... and could be doing it within a week or so.... probably quicker than trying to exchange your license anyway.

Now, if only can get a letter of ncb from Die Schweiz dann al ist gud

Alles gut [emoji38]

I have a letter of NCB of 65%, because they don't count it in years.

Learners permit will make my insurance more expensive than a foreign license, I think

My Russian one expires in less than 2 years. I have no intention to go back for exchanging it. So I won't boast having 3 of them for very long [emoji38]

The percentage only shouldn't be a big problem.
When I last moved back from the Netherlands mine was in percentage too (70%)....
Most insurance companies here only give you a max discount of "5 years"... and basically gave me the full discount possible.

Shop around via good brokers like "National Car Insurance" or "Campion"... despite having a brand new dated Irish License upon passing, as long as you can show NCB of several years (or high percentage like you have) then usually you will see a reasonable discount (Plenty Americans here in the same boat as you with regards having to do a new test etc, so not a rare or uncommon situation).

Yes, it will still be difficult and expensive to insure a LHD 2.0 car, but... it will be much easier once you have the Irish license and a bit of ncb too.

Campion doesn't deal with foreign NCB.
Most companies don't deal with LHD.
The best quote I got was about 1800 with irish license. But it appeared not easy to get.

I feel I should become a lawyer here just to be able to oppose any authority in their attempts of discriminating me.
On the other hand, this kind of experience will be of no use in any other country, because the law has power there.

Tell me, please, guys, where I should search for a job as a motor parts manager? Jobs.ie doesn't seem to have vacancies from small businesses.
