I have a Blob Eye Sti Impreza a while now,my rear suspension clunks a good bit believe this is a common problem with this model,is there any solution for this or is it time to buy new shocks, some feedback would be great, thanks lads!

Welcome along Pablo,it is a common problem with that model. Someone with expirence will be along with more info :welcome:

Welcome along Pablo ,

supposee you have 3 options regarding the clunking shocks

1. jack up the car , lift the rubber gator on the shock to expose the chrome looking part of the shock and coat in a spray of white litium grease , temp fix
2. fit grease nipple to the shock body , to allow regreasing without dismantling the entire shock
3. bite the bullet and buy a set of kyb or simular shocks , (have these in mine and been knock free for 3 years nearly )

I had the same prob with mine
Ciaran in asd (trader on here) took them apart and took all the old hard grease out and put better new stuff in and no more clunk and it was all done at a great price.
Let me know if you want his number he is in walkinstown

hi pablo, welcome along, i had the same problem on my 2006 blob eye sti, rear left shock knocking, the re greasing option didnt work for me, depending on your year of blobeye- 2003-2004- no problem getting kyb new shocks, kyb made them for subaru- if 2004-2006 blobeye sti kyb wont supply shocks for them as contractually restricted from doing so by subaru.

if you can get them rebuilt do as previously stated by another member or if like me you do oaccasional track day get bc coilovers i have them fitted two months now and very happy with them- they were 850 euro for full set, front and rear, 30 way fully adjustable- one replacement shock/strut from subaru costs 515 euro excluding vat so work out the maths for yourself.

another option could be scoobyclinic in uk, they do replacement shocks cheaper than subaru- fyi

:welcometotheclub Pablo... if you haven't yet... have think about becoming a full member - it's well worth it!

Let us know what way you go with the shocks (have same issue too and on the fence about what route to go with it).
