hissin noise

there is a hissin noise comin from my back driver wheel when the car runnin. My mechanic told me month ago it was the fuel pump on the waY out but i was told tat it cud be an upgraded fuel pump tats in the car and tats why its makin tat noise so wat do u ye think.The car is goin fine

Yeah sounds like the fuel pump alright.
A Walbro uprated fuel pump is noisier than a standard pump and can be heard from inside and outside the car when running and also for a couple of seconds before you start the car after turning the key as the pump pressurises the system

never heard an internal fuel pump running from outside the car on tick over lads!!!!

Yeah the Walbro pump is clearly audiable from outside my car. A high pitch wine. People sometimes ask me what the noise is.
I suppose if you have a loud exhaust it may mask the sound

Yeah as above, I got a bit of a fright in Belfast the first time i heard it! One of the lads from ScoobyIreland explained it to me though! Could hear it both inside and out of the car! Only usually hear it after the car has been given a good spirited drive!

Yup i've a walbro in mine and it makes the exact same sound. Nothing to worry about

Yeah, walbro pump in mine and can hear it clearly when car is idling.
