how can you tell if a car has been mapped?

My mate is thinking of buying a b4, he used to have one and wants to go back to it again!

However, the person seling one says it has been mapped as soon as it came into the country by someone up north????

Anyway, is there any way of telling if it has been mapped by looking at it or does it need to be hooked up to a computer?

Cheers

There is no real way of telling, unless he can find the guy who supposed to have mapped it....

who ever owned the car should be able to provide the dyno sheets that are supplied when car is mapped or at least know the name of the company and where it is so that you can ring to confirm if the dyno sheets have been miss layed.if none of this info is available it would raise suspicions in my mind that it hasnt been mapped.

If the car still has the 180kph restriction it hasn't been mapped...

If your mate just gets the name of the company who mapped it from the seller of the car he can just ring them and make sure.
