How is this possible?

Ok - I'm not too familiar with the different Subaru variants, but I always thought that the smallest available engine in a Legacy was a 2.0 N/A petrol? And that only the Impreza came with a 1.6 (or 1.5 if Jap import)?

If thats the case then how does someone manage to get an engine onto a logbook that was never even offered?

And just in case the advert gets pulled;

Subaru Legacy 2.5, 4awd, road tax 514 (1.6l in logbook ), gear box is out,call for more details.

If anything happens and an insurance company sends someone out to look at the car your in the poo

Dead right Keith, got it from my insurance guy that cars without nct will not be covered by insurance companies. Just another way of getting out a paying a claim

I don't see it as getting out of a claim, I wouldn't normally stand up for the robbing cnuts, but in the case of NCT and the car not being registered correctly it's hard to argue. A car should be roadworthy and what you are claiming it to be.

Doesn't matter what its tax'd as, if you insure it correctly, then a claim can't be rejected on the basis of it being tax'd incorrectly. There are actually guards looking through donedeal and the like looking for those types for cars so lads advertising that fact are only going to get themselves in trouble.

Import,car can be registered as that

Had a few GT starlet registered as 1 lt and 1,3
The Starlet I understand as there was a 1.0 available. Was there ever a 1.6 Legacy?

you just get a engineers report done saying it had a different engine in it
chap who bought my old 325i changed it to a 316
as Robbie said insure it correctly and the insurance cant do anything about it
