how loud is your car?

in response to woolylad 's post on the new garda crackdown does anyone know for sure how loud there car is?
has anyone had this test done by a guard to say what db your at? would be interseting to know!
 
Slightly above factory spec level.....
And thats just cause of the Air filter that was fitted.
 
It sure would be nice to have the answer to this, considering in the vid i posted in that tread
the guy said it was about 81db with the valve closed witch he said was quieter than factory,
yet the limit here has been set at eighty. so not sure, maybe ask subaru what the standard is :dontknow:
 
Was tested by guards but found out thanks to some of the guys on here that they didn't follow the test procedure so results weren't accurate ,
 
Id love to test mine...

I was told to get rid of my exhaust before cos of it bieng too loud..... that was with just a back box on it before i got the h&s....
 
yours is unnnatural in sound though kev!!!!

That would be good cos some people might be within the limit, but might think that there not.
 
Loud enough !

Havent had it tested - its decatted too thats highly illegal over here so i try to avoid the traffic commisioners :tongue:
 
104db at 4000rpm (zero/sports system,with race cat) my other system i have is 106db at 4000rpm.ive seen 118db on some cars before!!!
 
jesus graham hate to think what mine would read, i have a complete straight through from the turbo with a very small backbox :653:

you see i went for quality and performance!!!! :icon_nana: id say your up around the 110db level,they meter them at mondello so you will know in october!
 
85db at last reading!
That was with a full milltek 3" sports cat system!
Now I have the decat but silenced centre section and GT spec headers and up pipe, she is defo quieter now!

De-cat downpipe and centre section on mine isn't what bothers me its the loud bang that follows when i lift off the pedal,just ask Ciaran (RS-RA) :lol: :lol:
