As they say in the Eurovision - Null Point
Although I got caught the weekend before the penalty points came in, was down for the West Cork Rally and pulled on the road from Bishopstown out to Bandon, cops hiding in the bushes, 93 in a 60 zone. That was in my old VTI Civic, just ticking over I was!

god that's lucky, cos the fine for speeding is 80 euro. I'd say it'd be a real pain to have to pay out that much money. Imagine..........80 euro!!!!!

I know of an ex member of the club who was caught doing [glow=red,2,300]127MPH[/glow] in a 60MPH zone and he got away with a ticket on the spot. He gave the sob story of pregnant wife, lost his job, on the way to sell the car to pay mortgage etc... and the copper swallowed it!! :shock:

got caught on the Naas rd a few months back doing 147kmh in the 60kmh at 2 in the morning, pretended to be all panicky with the copper and said that me girlfriend was after ringing me to say somebody was trying to break into her house, couldnt beleive it when he let me go, but was just thinking afterwards i dont know what i would have done if he had have followed me or rang it in or something!! :doh:
 
Personally i think penalty points are a Major infringement on
my civil liberties , have a drastic effect on my social life and
simply make journeys longer; thus in my opinion, are contributing to
the slow down of the economy and ultimately, the demise of the Celtic Tiger .
