How much will my tax go up????

Check this video out, Shows the truth about what the idiotic government did,
The oil and gas network around ireland is worth 540Billion in total as of this minute, that will go up as oil gets in more demand.
Ireland get 0% of this, Absolutely nothin, the government gave it away. We wouldn't be in recession if we did like norway and tax the oil companies 90% of what they take in, And the oil companies would have definately taken us up on that deal because the oil and gas is still worth 54Billion to the companies.

This is a little over-hyped to be honest and not quite the full truth. Yes they are giving it away at the minute but with a 4% strike rate at excavating oil/gas in Ireland compared to Norways 25% strike rate the decisions made was to incentivise oil companies to drill/excavate here by offering them high initail profit in what was found with the intention of increasing our tax on any oil/gas found in high yield wells/reserves. With it costing over 100 million to drill and tap an oil/gas reserve you can kinda understand why they offered such an incentive to oil companies. As a nation we can't afford such costs.

This was written up in march, just wondering if there is any more up to date info on any of this?? I'm not at home these days working in the Oil and gas industry in aberdeen, so not getting the chance to read up on things. But when i came across that video and a little research, it infuriated me to know the government is taking so little out of our natural resources.
