Folks,

Quick question, is there some way of keeping the engine/engine oil warm during these very cold nights so that it is not as hard on the engine to start these cold mornings?

I was talking to a canadian there and they say hey have block heaters that warm the engine oil. Is there anything we can do to help this situation in our cars over here.

Ive thought about alot of this almost going to go and put and electric blanket on it! ha ha

Let me know please lads, temp in monaghan today is -10.5.

Rgds

was thinking the same thing... :ponder2: i work on refrigeration compressors everyday and they have sump heaters to keep the oil warm.... i was wondering if i threaded the sump and fitted one or get one that wraps around sump and when i get home for night just plug it in and put a timer on plug....

I have had a overheating problem the last couple of weeks and have been topping up with water. Result been I got a alloy rad the other day and when I went to change them yesterday the entire old rad and that had frozen so took me a good two hours off de-frosting the car with warm water. :wall: :wall:

All good now with new coolant and alloy rad in there now.
