If you bought an XV.....
(a diesal car)

could you have it tuned to deliver a bit more power than it's stated 144 bhp .
and would
that
be
mad ?

What the feck is an XV tom?

Assuming its a turbodiesel then yes tuning is a very real option.

Most diesels on the market that put out around 140bhp in standard form could expect at least 30bhp increase from a tuning box or map & anywhere from 40-60 ft/Ibs torque increase too.

Defo agree a legacy or a forester over it.

Was looking at a lovely pearl white legacy estate in carrol and roche few months ago. defo looked very well.
 
Do people Do that with legacys or outbacks and are there downsides?

I drove a diesel outback recently and was very underwhelmed , and a143 bhp quattro a4 wasj
Just as much of a let down ,
but
a 177bhp q3 was lovely
 
Most modern turbodiesels will see around 30%+ gain in torque figure from remap........it's not always about bhp figures :thumbsup:
 
I'm waiting for my warranty to run out in Aug with the Legacy and then look at tuning my boxer diesel. Must do a bit more reading up first and go for a tuning company and get a remap or just a tuning box that can be removed at any time like one of these

These tuning boxes however are only promising something like a 10-15% increase in torque

Litchfield are doing remaps, pricey but worth looking at as I'd say they know their stuff.
