I think the V5 Cert is your Certificate of Ownership. Definately a must have!! Might be wrong though.

Lovely looking motor! :subaru:

The V5 is your english log book and yes you need it re-register it. Or a certificate of export can be gotten, i am not too sure about them. Ask gizmo 5 on here, he gave me one of those certificates when i bought an impreza off him

He bought the car finaly and very happy with it (obviously) but could not find a good solution to get it covered by insurance for a resonable price.
Just wondering , how mutch would be the reg. fee to put her on Irish plate? Is there anything else needs to be payed?

thx for any help

:new_puppy_dog_eyes: SO she wont go on Irish Plate I'm affraid.
If have an address in the North of Ireland will I be able to get the car covered and taxed on it's original plate?

doesnt cost anything to change from hungarian plate to uk plate so there would be no tax or insurance problems!!!!
IMO...

The car is still on UK plate. He wanted to register in Hungary and change it to LHD but as He found out how f...g expensive to do it decided to keep it RHD and UK reg. But still need to get it covered and taxed somehow. So currently We are looking for the cheapest way.
If I have a friend in North Ireland and allows Me to use His address as mine can I keep the UK plate and get UK insurance?

dont think its that simple!!!
you need a hosehold bill in your name for minimum 6 months AFAIK...

If it was that easy I would have insured mine in belfast and not VRT'd her but you have to in Ireland maybe your mate can sort something for you, He'd be in a better position to find out for you.
