Impreza diesel wanted

Ok I'll give this one last lash. As some of you know, I'm in the market for a daily at the moment and had been thinking along the lines of a 2010 gti/gtd golf.
Anyway I've always wanted a hatch impreza and if I don't get one now I'll probably never bother with one.
What I want is a blue or white one, full service history and MUST be leather/sunroof spec model.
If you know anyone thinking of selling a car as described above please let me know.
Thanks

Is That To Do With The Crankshaft cracking or breaking dave . Seen few places quoting 5k sterling for new engine

Very nice, good luck with the hunt. One of the nicer looking modern diesels. Give carroll and Roche a call and see if they have anything coming in maybe?

new short engine alone is 4800.

you be 7k in total cost with labour and parts.

Petrol is the only choice if looking a hatch

Burns skoda dealer in sligo I think still has an 09 for sale. Blue

Was behind one driving home last night and was thinking what a great package it is td and 4 wheel drive in a hatch body

From what I was reading up it seems to only. Affect 09 to 11 models but I could be wrong . It's the reason I didn't go for a legacy Diesel that and being overpriced. 2011 Ones looking for 19k :cuckoo:.

Funny i mentioned about diesel imprezas to the local franchised Subaru mechanic recently and he said the only ones that gave trouble were the ones with overdue oil changes. I don't know enough about them to know if this is true. Pity they never went with the STDi option. :icon_cry:

There's a nice 09 1 in Galway for sale . I also spoke to a main subaru dealer and He said it happened because lack of oil changes But I Don't think that would cause the crank to snap in half to be honest

Thanks for all the comments lads.

Dave would it be fair to say its a common trait diesel vs petrol, petrol seems to be the more reliable option.

TBH joe I'm fussy when it comes to the spec. I hate the basic alloys and interior and rear bumper that's on the standard model. That's why that handful of diesels are on there for months. Thanks for your input anyway.

thats would be fair to say.

if it was a diesel car i wanted. it would not be a subaru.

if was a hatch impreza i wanted it would not be a diesel. the risk factor is far far too great for the few mpg you may save

The other half has a 10 impreza diesel and loves it.
120k km on it , only prob has been the DPF.
Had it deleted by Souhan s of trim.
6ltr per 100km fuel consumption.
150 bhp.
I would recommend you take a test drive to see if you like it.

So a really reliable 2.5 petrol hatch is the way to go doesn't take much research to dig a hole for these either
no. high tax. more chance of head gasket issues.

a 2.0R model. 160bhp. area 28-30 mpg combined.
