Impreza Diesel

Petrolheads
Lads, been on the lookout for a diesel for a while now but haven't found anything that really gets me going. I want a 4 x 4, wouldn't have anything else after the legacy, but jeeps are too big for herself and I don't want a qashqai or anything of the like.

I came across this today, anyone got any advice on them? MPG? Reliability, how much to tax etc?

Any help appreciated

Cheers
Dave

I think price is a bit mad alright, I know a lad that works there so gonna see what magic he could do to make it more interesting, can get an 08 petrol hatch for 14 k odd so no way would I pay 19 for the diesel

Think the first owner on that was caroll & roche
possibly was a demo car up there

It was C&R's demo car. A mate of mine was going to buy it but went for the grey demo they had with all the same bits on. Great cars. He loves his for the MPG still has some of the STi styling that he had before. He used to own pigeon heads hatch STi traded i for the Diesel. He said its a great car to drive to. I drove one myself in Lusk when they first came out and have to say I liked it to. Almost traded my STi at the time for it.

[/quote] I doubt the petrol would be near as nice. Leather? Sunroof? Xenon lights etc I agree they're way over priced, look at the car you could get for that money in another make

44mpg

just divide 282 by the litres/km number to get mpg

Had a look at it the other day in work.
Very clean example, inside is spotless.

I can ask for the rock bottom price for you but if you know one of the
Lads I'm sure it will be the same.

Really happy with mine,
average 45mpg can go up or down either way depending on how you drive it.
tax has gone up to 330 a year i think since the budget
The TD RS is the same version as mine with the leather heated seats etc, plenty of poke in it - cant say anything bad about it if i'm totally honest.

There is another one for sale in bray but it doesnt have the leather buckets in it

I have seen this car briefly, arrived there shortly after i bought mine but is a good deal cheaper i might add.... is it worth paying an extra 5k for leather seats and a 09 plate?!

Cheers Lotti,

Anything to watch out for? What are the service intervals like? Anything like my old B4 an nooo way!

Im going up on sat to drive it, she wants to test drive qashqai diesels, she'll be in for a shock!

If i heard correctly these Imprezas have same clutch as in Foresters (Diesels). Some of them a reported (by users) to have a burning clutch smell when reversing and they are afraid of short life of it. (of course not to worry when u can by aftermarket better one for this amount of torque).
But Forester is heaver so might not be the case for Impreza and this was especially winter time reversing in the snow or on the curb and etc.

If she wants Quasquai, get her Forester :-]]
