i know this is a stupid question but just said id say it, might get some sort of answers!!!

is it possible to get a intercooler style air breather or induction system for a impreza....
just wanted to put this up for the pig iron!!!
 
nope.. and to be honest your gonna drink even MORE petrol in any kind of induction on the 1.6L one came on mine it was unreal took it off. best just let it be.
 
Yes, there are loads of induction kit options out there, I have an apexi intake on mine. Car would need to be mapped for it though as the fueling would be off.

As Robbie said there are a loads of different kits available, here is a pic of a Maf-less RCM / K&N kit which is on my car:

Mapping is essential with an induction kit & it is best off fitted along with some other mods in order to get value out of the map :thumbsup:

no point getting mine mapped because shes not turbo, only reason that i put that post up was to see if there was an induction system that looks like a top mount intercooler

I have not seen one which looks like an intercooler, they are normally cone shaped or have a rounded profile :thumbsup:

I know what you mean. You can get them for the Hondas. Its called a Front Mount Cold Air Intake.

This type of thing.....

im sure you could customise pipe work to make it fit but could end up quiet expensive
 
Hello Andy,

With the length of the piping from the "front mount" position to the intake, it would not be up to much :doh:

Like the APS cold air kit that you can fit inside a wing, it would be more than prone to getting wet :doh:

But it does look like an inter-cooler :thumbsup:

With some mounting brackets fabricated and fitted, this could be mounted onto the top on a n/a engine :thumbsup:

I would not worry too much about "heat soak" or "intake temps" :smile:

I know how the induction kits come Michael have them on all my rally cars...

Yeah I was looking at those on eBay. For honda's n all make it look like a fmic
And small bitta of modification and it could be made into tmic. But I tink I'll stick to the way it is for the mean while, hopefully get a "real" impreza in the future haha
