Info on Certain Models Impreza 1998 GT 555 + 1999 GT Series II Prodrive Edition

Hello Just looking for a bit of information on the following Models. Im selling the 530d so im decided to get an impreza. Im liking the two following Models

What im looking for is what these cars are bhp are standard? What gains can be made from engine? Mpg? Reliability? Common Problems? All info Welcome!

AFIAK... the 1999 Impreza GT Series II Prodrive Edition was Limited Edition car sold in here in 1999 to commemorate the launch of the Impreza RB5 in the UK. I'd assume it's standard 218bhp like all Irish Turbos.

The 555GT was another limited Edition car in Ireland that had a UK equivalent called the Terzo. They too where standard 218bhp but like the GT Series II had a few aesthetic differences over standard Irish WRX's.

GT555's had partial Alacantera seats, 555GT decals on the boot and front wings, colour coded side skirts, mirrors etc.. and where only 74F Subaru Rally Blue. That black one in the Donedeal advert isn't a a genunie 555GT as they where known. Pics below are of a 555GT I owned.

Like any Scoob... look for service history... recent belt... clutches are expensive... rust on older cars... discs can warp or get heat cracks in them... calipers stick... piston slap is common on 98 cars... etc.

MPG is about 23-28 mpg on these Irish car if left standard and running well. Best talking to one of the traders on the best mods for an Irish car and costs. Usually a decent exhaust, new panel filter can get you alright gains... but depends what you have in mind, which in turn may make sense for you to go for a JDM WRX which was higher power (240bhp +)

 

[GORDON GT SERIES II]

well lad as jamie said the gt series II is a limited edition available here to commerate the launch of the rb5 in the uk,they have the same interior as the rb5 and some came with prodrive extras be it suspension,power or body styling,i was told that there is supposedly 26 of these in the country registered from new but not to sure on how to find out this,the power as jamie said is 218 bhp standard but i got mine mapped by simon jgm and is now running around 275 bhp with a panel filter full exhaust and standard turbo best money i ever spent,as has been said check it over fully make sure its straight driving no rattles,everything is as it should be,in my mind if you're already thinking of the gt series II and it is as it should be go for it you have the brighter interior same as the rb5 and that one in the pic has the speedline rb5 wheels ,id change the rear lights though them clear ones are tacky looking
