Insurance (again)

anyone tried insure.ie brokers?

they recently quoted me with about 400e less than other companies (xs direct) and about 200e better than Quinn Direct.

My policy is with Quinn, I turned 21 2 months ago and only pay 1800
3yrs ncb

Its unreal that some people are told you've to be 25/30 to get insured

I am with quinn with 2yrs ncb, and full license. I'm paying just over 1500 on my b4. Before i got the car i got my renewal for my other car (GSR) and they wanted €750 more than i paid the previous year and would only insure it as 3rd party! I had a Supra tt that i got crash repairable, fixed it up and the insurance still wasn't near the GSR! Really does depend on who you get on the phone and what kind of mood they are in at the time!

they charge a fortune of money cos they pay out ridiculous money in claims. friend of mine was passenger in car going over mountain road and meets two americans on wrong side. wrecks the car (naturally). he goes to doctors once and instructs solicitor he wants as near to 10,000 as he can get. 6 months later 8,000 of a cheque. quinn direct !!!

just something i picked up from one of my mates in the last few weeks when i was getting the scooby insured.

if you ring up the insurance company and say you own the car or have placed a deposit on it they have to quote you. Legally you cant be discriminated against because of age. Thats no to say they have to quote you a resonable figure mind.

i experienced this first hand i was calling around and they said 'no we cant quote you until your over 25' so then after talkin to my mate i told them i had placed a deposit on the car and needed my insurance in place so there was a long pause and he had to get some 'code' but they did quote me and i got insured so it can be done....not cheap though 2.5k no execess (with quinn) but only have 2 years ncb cause i was outta that county.

im in the process of renewing insurance on the wifes jeep , its also insured in my name, 3 quotes so far
axa 659euro
quinn 560 euro
insure.ie 412 euro btw axa were cheapest last year

my insurance is up the middle of this month. I got a quote a few weeks ago from my insurance company of 1100 on a 06 sti I'm 31 with 8 years full no claims with that quote I didn't bother ringing around cause most places won't even quote me but in the post yesterday I got a new quote a revised one of 880 so I am very happy with that, I'm with the AA for years and have always got great quotes off them great to deal with too
