Insurance issues??

Any of you guys experiencing bullshit rubbish about insuring your car? Had mine off the road for a few months and today was told by current insurers that they wont transfer the insurance from my Astra back onto my Impreza. They insured the car no bother last year. Called a few others out of anger and they either don't insure high performance cars or they have had to send my details to their under-writers. Any ideas of where to go to. I have full license for 18years, 10years no claims and never had an accident or claim before, obviously I'm the other side of thirty as well. Any help appreciated.

Happened to me while doing an engine build, ring back and ask for a supervisor. Its bullshit

Tell them it was of the road due to maintenance and that is not reason to refuse to re insure the car. They are clamping down on insuring Jap import imprezas though

Cheers BazGF8, was that the Wagon build your on about? Anyway its ridiculous as my car is a UK Turbo model, it was only off the as I started a new job and funds were a bit tight and I've just NCT'd the car last week, who are you with??

Ya its was. I'm with Liberty.

Should be no hassle insuring a uk turbo

That was a great build BazGF8. Nice one lukeewrx, I :phone: Chill there now and I've got a quote at least, double last years premium but at least I have an option :multijump:. I'll try liberty tomorrow as well, also the guy I spoke to at Chill mentioned a broker to try he also said my car is coming up as an import as it came from Northern Ireland. I will get back to my own insurer tomorrow and see if I can get a supervisor to see exactly what has happened. I feel a bit more relaxed now, I was thinking I might not be able to get the Wagon back on the road.

Try AA Insurance too.

AXA are their underwriters. I was with AXA for many years. Got a quote for the Hawk, bought it and then when came to change cover over they suddenly wouldn't insure (quote was in April and transfer in May - even though a week apart wouldn't honour it).

Anyhow, AA did cover me and about 30% cheaper than the quote I got from AXA previously and yet they are underwriting it... go figure!

another vote for the "AA" + put a female on the policy to get up to 20% off

my brother is looking for insurance on a turbo 2000 and even with full clean license and full ncb no body wants to quote him even though he has had a focus rs insured no problem a few years ago . don't make any sense
