Insurance. NEED HELP!!!

right so almost had my 06 sti bought but after running into trouble. when I first rang my broker for a quote they misheard the car as an sl model, not an sti. and now im after finding out they don't do sti's. Spent the day today ringing insurance companies, a lot of the ones I have seen on this site and not one quote... :angry1:

Even tried my existing insurance company and told them I had the car bought and it was no good...

I am now out of idea's and need any help at all.

Im 25, full licence for 6 years. 6 year NCB, currently insured with axa on a 2l diesel audi.
 
your age is against ya liam . I was 27 with 8 years ncb and could not get insured with quinn direct at the time without some argument and several calls even though I had bought the car . I think the insurance ombudsman might be worth a call in thiscase bud

Insurance companies do not like taking these cars anymore unless you are 30+ or willing to pay crazy prices and if some Vaseline may come handy :hammerhead:
 
ya tried a couple of them but will try another few again maybe next week. wasnt even getting a price, just every company said they can't insure that type of car!! :dontknow:

I'll try a few ideas again next week, otherwise will be forced to give up the idea for another few years... :nono:

Try 123.ie on line you can put in all the details on line and give them the reg they will come back with the type of impreza like..... wrx or sti...

Lots of company's wont go near jap imports any more.
 
I had the same problem when I bought my car Liam. Ended up settling for a Wrx at the time as no one would quote me. I got Britton insurance and then First Ireland and now with Chill. All on a Wrx. There a nightmare to deal with but just keep trying. Hope you get some joy.
 
when is your policy due for renewal ? might be worth changing to liberty 123 or the likes on the Audi for a short while then transfer onto the Scoob ? at least with them you know people on here have their cars insured with them and they cant tell you they dont insure them ,

might be worth a try alright. not due for renewal until end of may so have a bit of time. Even chill wouldn't talk to me. the minute I said subaru sti he didnt want to to talk anymore... :angry1:

might see what liberty will quote for the audi next week so.

just ask will they insure a WRX out of interest, and if they will get a WRX and in a few years you could always get a sti.
With the roads we have down here an WRX is enough IMO, unless you plan to do track days or drive out of here alot etc etc

i dont see any easier way Liam , insurance is always a bitch on sti's , you will be kinda stuck with them until your 30 also , ive rang around every year and no one will touch me on it , although im 30 this year and i managed to get an online quote for the first time ever on a scoob , its not to long until your renewal so maybe a deposit on the car will get Phil to stick your name on it ,
 
Insurance companies are hard to figure out, I have my wife insuring the impreza because it was cheaper for me to insure the audi. but i was looking at a bug sti before i bought the blob wrx, got a quote and then bought the blob because it came at the right money, but when we rang back to insure the wrx the price didn't change from the sti price, but i bet if i had got price for wrx first and went back to price sti insuarance it would be a different story, :dontknow:
 
axa do cover sti's , abiet through the AA . but only because they were cheaper
 
Give Rsa royal sun alliance a shout or mccarthy ins broker they will do the leg work fr you
 
cheers lads ill try everything tomorrow and let ye know what happens but so far its not looking good. been looking at the hawk wrx and the wrx blob but my attitude was if im going to be paying over 1k in tax and very high insurance I wanted the sti subaru. but if it doesn't work out i think i'll get a wrx blob.

But I'm not going to give up on my sti hawk just yet... :subaru:
 
I'm 20 and driving 00 bug eye sti insured with Aviva ... They will quote you on anything if your willing to pay .. Give them a try .. Even online quote
