hey ash!

Done that myself. insured corsa first - just to change it to WRX  trying to get quotes from anywhere else is impossible!!!
Ya'd think being female, 29, having 6yrs no claims and 11yrs full licence would make it easier - but no!!! :eek7: :angry1:

quinn just pissed me off when renewal came and the insurance went up. funny enough thoug when i changed cover from WRX to TypeR insurance went down??? :eek7: :cuckoo:

Its on a B4-RSK mate!

I rang 10 or more insurance companies the other day and only 2 would quote me on an sti type-r, both wanted double what i was paying now!

Plus there's someone on here insured through first ireland with axa who's younger than me with the same car! when i rang axa they said have to be 30, when i rang first ireland they couldn't qoute me!

Where do they get it from? they change the rules from minute to minute!! Ya cant win :new_2gunsfiring_v1:

sounds stupid but sometimes i think its just who you get on the phone at the time!!!!
my wife used to work in royal sun alliance years ago and thats how it worked !!!!!
she used to give full discounts to most customers where other employees wouldnt give anything unless they liked the sound of your voice!!!!
bunch of fookers but its pot luck!!!!
ask to speak to the supervisor for a proper reason for no quotation!!!

I got a quote from arb after two days on my type r. The bloke I was dealing with was bang on and very helpful but the best quote he could get me was 2358e or there abouts fully comp. 50e less for tpft!!?? I told him I couldn't afford it so that was the end of that.

Think I'm gonna get insured on an astra I have access to for 850e with quinn and then change over... How much do ya's realistically think they can put it up by? Like I'm that desperate I'll prob pay another grand.

yea thats what i was sayin, i'll insure the astra and then transfer it over... but like would they put it up by more than a grand do ya's think?

They might refuse to transfer-did it to me before when i changed from an evo 6 to a dc5 type r-never really understood that.

When I was on to ARB they said any insurance co that you have a current policy with has to quote you by law even if its an outrageous price. They just don't have to give a "new business" quote.

I think that is true, when i swapped over to the scooby with quinn they upped the price from 500ish to 980 tpft, but it depends on age, sex, location, ncb etc. and as we've discovered, who ya get on the phone!

Cheers for the reply's lads

when i went to quinn to get a quote for the wrx the girl asked me: "you own the car already, don't ya?" and winked at me. which i actually did at this stage. she wasn't gonna or couldn't give me a quote to find out how much it was. i had no other choice at that stage anyway cause i needed to get the car insured.

ya shouldn't have that much hassle to get a high performance car insured for a reasonable price!! which seems to work for some and doesn't for others! just not fair!!! :cuckoo: shouldn't depend on who ya get on the phone, where ya live or what sex ya are!!! :cuckoo: women aren't saver drivers :eek7:

and what is the craic with these course discounts? i'm driving long enough now without doin any of those courses - and never had an accident or anything! does that mean i'm not as good as a driver as people that did those courses??? :eek7:

man i could go on and on and on bout this  but feelin better now after gettin it outa my system

I wonder why one of the Insurance companies doesn't take the opportunity to set up a company along the lines of some that they have in the UK. Adrian Flux and the likes. A company solely based on high performance motor policies. Its not like there isn't a market for it!
