Insurance prices?

I wonder why one of the Insurance companies doesn't take the opportunity to set up a company along the lines of some that they have in the UK. Adrian Flux and the likes. A company solely based on high performance motor policies. Its not like there isn't a market for it!

yeah ya'd think someone thought of that already :ponder2: there's defo a market for it!

there is a market there alright but you have to ask the question,is there a profitable and viable business opportunity or possibility????
i would say no!!!!
IMO

True! But even some of the companies I rang the other day say they do High Performance Cars on their website wouldn't quote me because of the car i drive! And the definition of "high performance" on one site was "any vehicle that can go from 0 to 100kmh in 10sec or less" that's a big gap there! My ma's 1.3 Suzuki Wagon R (box on wheels) can do that!

i guess when you do get a quote of a company and you proceed, you need to stay with them or risk being left in limbo and facing difficulty getting a quote!!!!
:ponder2: :ponder2:

sorry a little bit of topic but really want to know the answer. If you buy a car that insurance company is happy to insure it on your own name and after a couple of months you transfer it to let say impreza WRX, what will happen with renewal of it? Will they renew it or you need to do the procedure again?

yeah they will renew it. ya can change ya car as often as ya want
once ya insured with them they will send out the renewal. with quinn it could happen that it goes up a bit - happened to me.wasn't impressed that it went up about € 90  :cuckoo:

I am insured with axa through quoteme.ie. When I rang early last week to transfer my policy over to my type r from my golf they told me that their axa rep said there was no way that it could be done.. to muck risk :icon_blahblah:

Chanced my arm the next day and rang again, got a different woman on the phone, she said they would do it and would want 500e for the remainin 4 and a bit months left on the policy. got the quote from the same rep who refused the day before.

Then rang my local axa branch direct to see what they could do as my Dad knows the manager there well for 20 odd years and he said no way would he touch it, need to be 30+ and full no claims before they would even quote me....... :angry1:

and theres lads here with the same car, younger than me and gettin it with axa for far less than its costin me

pure pot luck gettin quotes

oh i so know how ya feel!!!! :angry1:

it just makes no sense how those insurance companies work. I'm 29 and got a quote for € 826 fully comp from axa - so what's the bullsh11t bout ya need to be 30+? i'm pretty happy with the quote to be honest but if I wanna put Phil on it as a name driver it goes up to €1900 - that's on the Type R.

I just dont understand how those insurance quotes work :ponder2: people that are a lot younger than me with less NCB and have their license not as long as me get insured on the same car a lot cheaper than me?? sometimes I think it's my Austrian license -have it for 11yrs and it's a full EU :ponder:

Ya would think the older ya get the easier it would get to find insurance, cheap enough and no matter what car!!! but obviously that's not the way it works :angry1: :angry1:

Well lads I just transfered my insurance on to my Type R from my ma's Astra today. Took all of 2 mins. I said I want to amend my policy and put it on this car. He said please hold. 10 secs later he said that is fine but its now 1800e. 900e on top of what I was payin for the Astra... Thats TPFT. Its not great but it'll do...

Anyway happy days I will now be back out and about in my baby for the first time since last May!! :shock2: Almost a year since I had her on the road!! :new_puppy_dog_eyes:

Keep a look out for me!!

I'm gettin new wheels fitted on monday too!! White rota torque. Hopefully they look good on the car!!

I won't be goin too far before monday coz I am currently runnin on a space saver!! :icon_rolleyes: Maybe just down to the shop!! :multijump:

thats great news, im glad it worked out okay for you

1800 euro is mad money to be paying for insurance :angry1:
Is that for a full year or just whats left of your last year???? and its only TPFT something wrong there no :ponder2:

Its for a week off a full year. Only started the policy last monday. I know its outrageous but its the best I could get. At 22 with 3 years no claims... I'd say they pick a figure out of their heads to be honest but he was not going to budge and if I waited and called someone else back up the same quote would be on the system so I doubt it would have made a difference.

Any suggestions for cheaper insurance is very welcome...

Insurance prices are gone up all round anyway at the moment. Like I couldn't get a quote any cheaper than 1000e for a 1.4 astra besides with Quinn!! :hammerhead: :angry1:
