Just got my renewal quote from my insurance company today and it's nearly €600 dearer than last year. I've full no claims and no points just wondering who's best to try for a quote, thanks guys

Move every year then you get the discount
Stick a woman on it to that helps also
After that try a few place online
AXA think had good deal a month or 2 ago
They where the best for me anyway and the Wife spent the whole day on the phone ringing around and they could be bet
Generally I think they just pull a figure out of there hole :jack:
Prepare for the old ring up and be told there systems are down
Been getting that got 20 years
A lot of underwriters are in trouble and aren't taking any high risk stuff on this year I've heard
Some brokers are very good also

Just keep at it think I'm with AXA. My broker was telling me it's been harder this year than most with subaru's a lot trying to get away from them

Conor, try AA too... I was with AXA and moved to AA as were over 300 cheaper last year and in the end was still insured with AXA as they are one of the underwriters used by AA.

I'm with AA too, even though it is still insured by AXA.
They are the cheapest my insurance has ever been !!

If you many points the aa will hang up the phone on ya.

Having terrible hardship trying to get a quote off insurance companies, a lot of them won't insure it cos of the particular model it is and others are saying that the model doesn't exist, and the companies that do quote are giving ridiculous prices, I even got a quote of €16,263.72. It has DCCD on n my log book and that's the reason they won't insure it, that's what they tell me anyway when I ask why

Have tried nearly all the insurance companies at this stage dec, and alot of them telling me same thing that it's because of the DCCD that they can't give quote

On my log book it say impreza sti dccd as the model but I think it should say impreza wrx sti, am I right or has anyone else the same on their log books?

With aviva but they looking for €600 more this year than last that's why I started pricing around but ran into this problem

If you cannot get the insurance companies see sense that all STI's over the past 10 odd years have DCCD and that it clearly is a log book entry fault... then only option maybe to get on to Shannon and see if they can fix the "error" on the book and send you out a cert with the correct details? :dontknow:

Have you tried doing an online quote? I rang the aa crowd and they wouldn't insure me as I had a few points but then I did an online quote and put my points on it and got a quote of 698, I think when you talk to them and they hear wrx/sti etc they automatically say no quote, or ridiculously high figure!
