Integra broken into - Ratoath.

GF rang me about 2 a.m.. Someone broke into my car, wrecked the interior and everything all over the place. Took the fob for the security gate so they can come back. Have the car blocked in now so they cant try lift it on a trailer.

Happened in Ratoath. Neighbours disturbed them and they legged it. I'll update when I know more. Dirty little *******s!

Neighbour says car was a black polo or MKIV golf. Any about the area sees anything dodgy forward me on a reg.

Alarm should have gone off. Have to check the battery.

Only in the door from work so only getting to the car now. They pulled the glove box and drivers pocket apart. Reefed the iPod cable from the back of the radio. Tried robbing the stereo but it's bolted in so all they succeeded in doing was breaking a clip on the radio fascia surround.

Only thing they took was the fob for the security gates so my guess is they're planning on coming back.

There was no power going to the alarm but I know what it was and it's now sorted so full alarm system up and working again.

All I'll say is they were very reckless and myself and the Gardaí have plenty to go on. They were stupid enough to bring their car down past numerous CCTV cameras along with plenty more evidence.

The minute I have a reg, someone is going to be sorry. Cowardly little scumbag *******s.

Sorry to hear that, scumbags are at it everywhere now - worse than the 90's all over again.

Get the code for the gate remotes changed, the majority of them have dip switches in them which can be set randomly and the radio reciever reset to only open for the new code. This is a very easy job to do/get done, only issue you might have is if the gates are for an apartment car park then you will have to do all the remotes.

Serious amount of cars gone missing this weekend. How did they get into it John?

Alarm didn't go off due to a power fault. Sorted now. My drivers door lock has been acting up with the frost so I locked it with the key. Dunno how they got it opened. No broken windows or bent door etc.

Yeh it's a complex so all fobs will need doing. The gates do be broken and left open for days on end so management company can sing for it if they think I'm paying for all fobs to be re-coded.

How did they get in in first place hardly need your fob for next time
Sorry to hear hope you get sorted

They left their car outside and hopped the railings. The thing about them having the fob is they can get in with a trailer etc.

Sorry have you now at least you have alarm back working
Shocking that you would nearly have to take wheels off to stop them taking it and even at that still not safe

Its a very strange story, how did they open your car? Is there another key floating around for your car by any chance??
Did they try to start it? if they didnt then why bother breaking to it? if they did try start it how did they plan on getting out if you had no remote??
As regards the reg, there is probably a good reason why they dont mind it been seen, its not theirs.
