intercooler removal

thinking of doing this tonight just wanna know how handy is it to remove the tmic?can i do it on my own?
need to replace my primary booste pipe but cant get at it as its so tight where it is

Very straight forward... it can be harder to put back on. Pipe from turbo to underside can be a bit of a balls to re-connect.

Is there just two pipes?one pipe from each turbo or is there more underneath?
I can see the one i need to change goes from the turbo to the bottom of the ic.

First undo the rubber pipe from the front of the intercooler...next theres one on the left hand side(as you look into the engine bay)-undo the hose clip on this leaving the pipe with the intercooler. Finally undo the pipe to the primary turbo again leaving the pipe with the 'cooler. Now wiggle the whole lot from the top back end and it;ll come free. Careful of the boost pipework from the solenoid box but theres a bit of give in them so dont be too gentle,enough length in them to turn the 'cooler upside down.
 
Did this today got ic off no probs but a pain putting it back on
the pipe on the primary was in bits the end on the turbo was broke away from the pipe itself and wrapped in some mad tape(like hard plastic)
only thing i can think of is at some stage the ic was removed and while been put back on snapped the pipe and just got patched up il post some pics of the pipe later
thing is now its on the car dont feel right i can hear loads of air been sucked in when its boosting but it dont feel powerful till the secondery kicks in like the airs not doing anything
the jublee clip were the primay pipe meets the ic is not that tight as i need a smaller screwdriver to get at it going to do in the morn but would this be the problem as the pipe dont move at all
could it be the sencondery boost pipe as i had a bit of hassle getin that back on maybe its not on all the way.
sorry for going on was looking forward to the pipe making a difference after seeing how sh*t the other one was and it now feels slower :sad:
any ideas?
 
get the pipe replaced that is going to the primary turbo....
while your at it your might aswell replace the secondary turbo pipe aswell.....
Nice samco hose kit would improve the looks......

Hammie i replaced the pipe with a mint one i got off Froggy i have a feeling its the secondary boost pipe sounds somthing like this

 
Where are you based? I think I have a spare intercooler with all pipes on it here if you wanted to try any bits.
 
Thanks B4 Soon but i got this sorted hadn't tightend one of the jublee clip on the front ic hose feels much better now :smile:
