irelands greatest

Bono: All he does is sing and talk crap
Mary Robinson: hasnt really made a huge difference to the Majority of the population (to the best of my knowledge)
Michael Collins: He is the man that realistically gave Ireland its independance....
John Hume: hasnt really made a huge difference to the Majority of the population (to the best of my knowledge)
James Connolly: He was 1 of the leaders in the 1916 Easter Rising (executed by british firing squad)

I think even tho he is the least known out of the lot of them.....
James Connolly gets my vote just from the research i done last night and this morning into each of them......

bono , as much of him i dont like ,but like dave fanning said on the late late , its the behind the scenes humanatirian work he does in africa caus those poor feckers have it proper rough compared to us .

im not a history man, but collins and connoly for what they did for this country

and yes even o leary caus of his attitude . but not on same scale as above lads

Humanitarian work is all well and good, but IMO to be considered as Ireland's Greatest it should be based on what you have done for the country rather than helping everyone else.
