Lads and Ladies,

As top gear did this some time ago it got me thinkin, where are irelands top driving roads? :ponder:

I was lucky enough to do the san bernadino pass in switzerland in the scooby a few months back and it was amazing! :icon_headbang:

In ireland the only places in can think of are the dublin mountains and most recently the N81 - first time on it and boys its got some lovely sweeping bends! :653:

any ones u can think of? :dontknow:

Oh and the drive we did for the Limerick meet!

the road from colloney out to dromore west in sligo, also the road that starts at carraroe and goes out around the lake, think it goes into leitrim and ends back at the hospital in sligo

Chriss ,what about the spin you brought us on looking for your" 24 HOUR" maxol a few weeks ago after the show in piltown
they were interesting roads barely fit the car down them and we didnt exactly spare the horses either :icon_headbang:
 :subaru:

The black road stage of the galway international-only one bend you really have to brake for and no houses for about 5 miles of it.

The road out of sligo towards enniskillen is great fun, some serious bends on it and great surface too :subaru:

molls gap, healys pass, caragh lake, all used in rally of the lakes, theres a lot of great road around kerry/west cork :icon_headbang:

That was great craic!

I really like Brittas, Bohernabreena, up by bohernabreena gearbox to top top of the mountain, down to veiw point, up to johnnyfox's Road, quite rough but very involving and mostly unihabited!
Wicklow and Sally Gap are good, and road from laragh to Rathdrum (lots of jumpback bridges)
Dan

Good thread!

The Laragh/Rathdrum is the Vale of Clara... used to do the Laragh Loop on my GSXR years ago..... GREAT ROAD! A lot of blind humpback bridges... Care needed! And then on up through Wicklow Gap!!! Heaven! :icon_headbang:

Straffan Road off the N7 heading out to the K Club.... Sweeeet sweeping bends on super smooth tarmac... and some rather blind humpbacks! Got 2 foot air Mk1 MR2..... SCARY... :icon_omg: but great road!

Old Wicklow road past Cullenmore into Ashford - Southbound! Great fun and absolutley no traffic on it since new part of N11 opened! :icon_biggrin:

Ring of Kerry... say no more!! :icon_pray:

On Vale of clara there is a bridge on the rathdrum side that literally has a right hander imediately after it, COOL  I love the dangerous stuff!
My test track is From Sallins, along a backroad past Killeen golf course to the Straffan Rd (Slippy) then down towards straffan, turn down past K Club and back to sallins! Class!
Great roads!
