So after the crash my Scooby is finally at the panels beater.

I thought I'd get it back this week but after I removed the timing belt cover - I was petrified.. The lower right side pulley has been damaged to the stage it defo slipped on the timing.. :(

I wonder how much damage could have been caused by that? :(

only way to know for sure is to get a new pulley and re allign the belt and do a compression test or leakdown test, if you get good results then happy days

is it a wrx or sti ?as far as i know from experience wrx's dont do damage if the belt breaks so fit a new pulley and time it up and you should be fine

they can do harm because of the higher compression but even so i would fit a pulley and set up the timing and try it you may be lucky  :pray:just turn it over by hand first if it is not locking up i would start it and see if its missing

If the engine stalled when you hit then you have a chance of it being alright, if it ran on then just pray that the valves were closed when the piston came up.. Only way to know for sure is to check though..

thats similar to what happened to mine, my timing belt cover got smashed to bits by the rad goin through it, brother said he turned off the car when he crashed. mechanic too out tons of broken plastic, slapped a new timing belt on, made sure it was aligned proper and turned it over, didnt wanna start at first but with a bit of persuasion :comp26: :new_2gunsfiring_v1: :new_gmorning:  she fired up. think froggy said to me they can be up to 10 teeth out and not bend valves so cross those fingers

Hopefully the engine is fine!

I spent about 2k Eur already to have her back on the road..

New Hybrid GT2 Intercooler, Aluminium radiator, original new bumper and V6 splitter.. more to come!
