Is there a transponder chip in the key on my car?

Hi guys just wondering if there is a transponder chip in the key on my 01 b4 as I want to get a spare key cut for it, cheers.

Shouldnt be. I've had plain keys cut for both my Legacys. A 98 Rev A and 02 Rev D

There is no transponder in thoes keys just remote immobiliser is through clifford alarm
