It finally Happened!!

I'm going to look into becoming an official dealer for the trunk monkey Auto security. I think it's the only way to stop them.

Sorry to hear about the car man.

Anyone know if there is a way of transferring the cctv footage from the video tape (stone age i know!!) to the internet??

Just after getting a phonecall from the gardai. They have found my car just north of Dundalk. Going to go now and see what sort of state it is in. They wouldn't say much over the phone so i'd say thats probably a bad thing. Think i have to leave it with them for a while to see if they can lift any prints off it. Hopefully its not in too bad a state and i can get it recovered soon enough.

Glad your getting it back mate, hopefully they didn't trash it on you!!

Was the car insured? Just so you know, if the guards take it and put it in a impound place, you are liable for the costs of storage unless you can drive it away... If you drive it away then the guards are liable for the storage but if its on a trailer then you will have to pay... Obviously your insurance will cover it if it was insured though but then you might lose any NCB you have

@sweetcakes Car wasn't insured because they wouldn't allow me multiple cars on a policy. The car definately can't be driven because there was no head on the engine and no clutch. Should i get my own transporter?

Get the car transported back to your house and tell them if they want to finger print then they can send someone around to do it... If an impound place gets its it will cost you a hell of a lot to get it out mine stayed there for 2 nights and the bill was €560 but i was lucky cause they initially thought the car would run cause it was in good nick so i begged your man and he claimed off the cops

Great to her your getting your car back, didnt know you'd get charged for the

Garda's holding your car for prints, :ponder: doesnt seem very fair.

Your the victim of a crime after all!

just like i didnt realise until recently, if they rob your car and set it alight, you're responsible for the fire brigade charges... Only realised that when i changed over insurance... axa said they would cover those charges...

if they take your car to one of their own impounds, i dont know if they would charge you... They took mine to an independant place and they charge through the nostrils to keep it...

Just back from seeing the car now and i have to say i'm shocked!! The car is pretty much as i left it. They have taken all the glass fom it! Why i don't know! They have also taken the spoiler.

The car was dumped on the side of the road heading towards Carlingford from Dundalk. The Garda i was talking to also said that they have cctv from a petrol station a few hundred metres up the road of the transporter it was on so they are going to look into that to.

Cars now back in my possesion because as Sweetcakes said they were going to charge me to store it in impound while they waited to take prints. Don't see why i should have to pay for that so the car is now in a lock up that an uncle owns so if they want to have a look after this and take any prints then its there for them.

Thanks to everyone for the comments.

when you say transporter
is that a flatbed or a trailer???
do the people owning the M1 have any cctv footage available???

Well done mate, you got away lightly.

Petrol station cameras should pick up reg on the transporter & a name of the company if it was a branded transporter - sounds like these scumbags are gonna get caught
