Jack Stand Points

Just a quick question more for peace of mind and safety to myself and car.

I'm going to put the rear of the car onto jack stands at the weekend so that i can remove the rear shocks to add grease nipples, i fitted new shocks about 7k ago and they are starting to knock already.
So im gonna try the grease nipple idea as the knocking is wrecking my head.

My questions is where is the safest place to put the two stands at the rear? I have never put a car on stands before and the car will be sitting in the drive for a few days on the them.
Can i jack the back of the car up using the rear diff with a 2 ton jack?

Thanks,

Place stand under chassis leg, it's unusual for shocks to go after such a short time?? Did you damage while fitting like holding shaft with vice grips when tightening top nut. Are you sure its the shocks!

What are you at with the grease nipples? Go away and buy new shocks if they are goosed. More than likely they are pressurised gas shocks grease nipples aren't going to do sh*t.

Newage shocks knock horribly, Subaru's fix was to regrease them and it solves the problem temporarily. My own are at it too but I want to get coilovers instead :icon_lol:

Fault with new age OEM's, unaware of the issue in the first place i got the garage to replace them with OEM's again.
Same noise as before (old shocks) so we re-greased and it went away for 4/5months, so no harm in adding the nipples and see how it goes. Either way i have buy new ones if it doesnt work so no harm in trying.
i will get over adding grease every few months if it works.

Next change i make sure I get shocks that wont have the same issues. Not going coilovers as it be a nightmare on our west cork roads..
I have the STI shocks all round they are hard as it is.

Coilovers and new age is not route i would go

No matter what. 99% of time it is on the road and not the track

Got a set of second hand hawk eye shocks a while back. Im gonna fit them with the grese nipples also and swap them out with my own at some stage.
