It was tested Saturday and a practise run done on Sunday,

Should be introduced for round 2 on the 31st of this month,

Will make for some very interesting racing for both the driver and spectator!

great stuff peter

any pics and do you do all the work on the car yourself??

The misses took a few, ill get them up,

Yeap keep it running myself, the 205 is easy enough to work on,

Gotta get handy with the fillers though this week as it took a pounding yesterday!!

Have been watching the european rallycross this season alright & the joker lap makes it that bit more interesting alright. Where are they putting the extension on?

How did you finish in the end?

joker lap ??????????? shortcut that can only be taken once and has to be done by all . am i close ??

if so im guessing the "honda" :hammerhead: i mean ford bend at end of pit straight where most spectators would catch the action !

I'd imagine you're half right mac

Joker lap is actually an extension to the normal laps, and has to be taken once by every driver at some point during the race.

I'd forgotten that they cut out honda on the rallycross track, so will probably make the drivers take honda as the joker lap.

what is this "honda corner " you speak of ????

is it not now called "ford " ???? :wall: :wall:with the new advertising

preffered "honda " myself

I'm a traditionalist

Just thinking about it there afterwards though & its highely unlikely they will use honda/ford for the joker lap as that would mean cars coming steaming into turn 2 directly across cars not running the joker lap...that would be carnage akin to a certain figure of 8 track setup at the ice karting in drogheda a couple of years ago :icon_lol:

They did a practise run with Tracy, Tohill, Willie Coyne and a few others to give everyone a look but called the stockhatch cars to pit lane at the same time so didnt get to see it but from what I can gather its after the right in the 'hole in the hedge' around which would be turn 4 on the national, through an 'S' made from some heavy duty plastic barriers!! (bound to be wearing one of those as a front bumper at some stage!)and re join on the gravel before the second last right of the track.

This makes sence in my head, hope yous grasp my half arsed explanaition!!

I finished second in the B final, They messed up the times and stopped racing for an hour before they started the finals, I had 2 1st's and a second in class but placed me at the back of the grid for the B final which didnt make sense but happy with second and aiming for the A final as the season goes on.

Good result Peter

So they're going to bring the cars back in just where the track narrows right down thru the tyres & out onto the back road? There will be carnage, that turn is tight enough as it is

Yeap thats it alright but they widened rallycross 3 to make a bit more room for the exit of the joker,

Have a look at Tohill testing, he dosnt take the joker but Coyne who is ahead of him does, you can see where they have widened it on the left aswell.

wasnt down there peter but have heard that the drivers like it more than the spectators as it takes away from the close racing

It was seriously slippy in the joker,

Probly true that it takes a bit of the wheel to wheel racing out of it but alot of the stockhatch lads including myself noticed less damage than normal! But when everyone gets used to it, it will keep the racing tighter.

The concrete barrier that they put up on the exit is too high, impossible to see if anyone is there until after the exit.
