Just would like to say Hello to all member of ISDC.ie.

Want also to say many thanks to people who are controlling this web site.

A few words about myself:
I am Russian student, studing in Griffith College in Dublin. Cars are the most interesting thing for me. Really like subarus. :subaru: So I decided to join the club.

I had Honda Civic 1.3 which was recently stolen. However, I never give up so thinking of buying Subaru Imreza 1.6 Ts around 2003 year. Could not afford to buy 2l one because of insurance issue. :wall: Would like to ask your opinion about this car. I heard it is very slow compare 1.6 civic or other jap 1.6 engine cars. However, impreza was a dream car some day for me so really want your comments about impreza 1.6.

Welcome alone 1.6 civic's are everywhere not that many 1.6 impreza's around think the civic would be a faster car.

There are alot of very quick 1.6 civics, (SIR & Type r's) they would give an impreza STI a run for it's money around mondello!
You can get a 1.6 impreza with AWD so she would be very stable on the wet bumpy roads we have, In fact I don't beleive you would ever overwhelm the chassis so good and safe!
There are alot of cheap wrx's and 2000 turbos around at the moment, Road tax and fuel consumption are maybe 50% more and there are ways around expensive insurance!
So don't rule out a turbo'd scooby just yet!

I've had Two 1.6 TS's and loved them both. If you want a subaru then Buy one and make up your own mind. You will not obviously have the power of a light Civic and the four wheel drive takes a bit of drive from the car but it makes up for it with handling.

I loved mine so much that I have stayed with subaru 5 times since.

I'd say get one. But get one with as much WRX or STi kit on it as if you don't you end up spending on her to get those bits in the future.
